Prevent the Development of Cervical Cancer

• • • Cervical cancer is 100% due to Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) infection.
    • The HPV DNA test is provided by health professionals (gynecologists and clinical laboratories), who collect painlessly a sample from the uterine cervix, which is examined for HPV-infection.
    • Women aged 25-65, who are tested by HPV DNA once every 3 years significantly reduce their risk to develop cervical cancer, even if they have normal Pap-smear test results.
    • According to the European Guidelines the HPV DNA test is the best test for the follow-up of women with a pathological Pap-smear test or with a history of cervical precancer.
    • The HPV DNA test is the sole cervical cancer preventive test that is provided in Cyprus.

The HPV test is carried out in our laboratories using Roche reagents and instrumentation with the pression which characterizes Roche (Switzerland).
